Vi har opptil 86% fisk i kakene og lager fiskemat på samme oppskrift som i 1929.

I 1929 flyttet de to søstrene Elna og Gudrun Hagelin til Bergen fra Nedre Stedje Gård i Sogndal. I Bergen ville de realisere en drøm. De ville starte butikk for salg av hjemmelaget fiskemat. Søstrene Hagelin åpnet butikk og fiskematen ble en stor suksess. Blant annet fikk Kong Olav alltid tilsendt fiskekaker fra søstrenes butikk da han var i Bergen. 

I dag er Søstrene Hagelin kjent langt utover byens grenser. Søstrenes fiskemat lages på nøyaktig samme gode oppskrifter nå som i 1929, og råstoffet er alltid fersk hysefilet.
